Second grade is a fun, exciting year at St. Clare! We are actively engaged in our learning, exploring all subject areas such as language arts, math, science, social studies, and religion. We also have additional courses such as art, p.e., music, library, and computer sciences. During the year, we have many exciting field experiences in the works to complement our learning in the classroom. Such trips include visits to Plumper Pumpkin Patch, OMSI, and two plays based on great children's literature performed by Oregon Children's Theatre. Service learning is also a key component of our curriculum so we will organize and carry out three collection drives for various local organizations. Last, but not least, second grade is also a very important year for our children as they receive their First Holy Communion in the spring.

This is my third year in the teaching profession and working at St. Clare. I strive to meet the needs of each and every learner in my classroom by creating a safe and respectful learning environment and employing teaching strategies to meet how my students learn.
