Principal's Corner

Dear Parents,

This is that crazy time of year when I feel as if we’re straddling two school years.  There is so much yet to do this year, but we are also in the thick of making plans for next year.

Still to happen this year are several field trips, special activities, and all the traditional events that make up graduation. Field trips yet to come include visits to OMSI, Providence, the Oregon Food Bank, Mary’s Woods, the Oregon Zoo, and Outdoor School. Also in store are middle school retreats, Second Grade Family Science Night, Battle of the Books, First Grade Mothers’ Day Tea, Kindergarten Round-Up, the Art Fair, and field day. We also will be selecting new peer mediators and electing new Student Council officers. And there is still everything that makes up our celebration of graduation. We have some busy weeks ahead of us!

While all this is happening, faculty and staff are already getting ready for next year. We are setting our calendar, reviewing our schedule, revising our safety drill procedures, ordering textbooks, and planning professional development pursuits. SAC is busy filling some vacant seats while continuing its work on the strategic plan. PTC is also filling some open positions and planning its calendar for next year. So much to do!

It’s been a very full year and we are not slowing down! Thank you for all you do to make our school community vibrant and strong!

Best wishes,

Debbi Monahan
