ST.Clare CYO Athletic Program

St. Clare’s CYO athletic program is committed to the dignity and worth of each child it serves in a safe and nurturing environment. Students typically in grades 3–8 from the parish-school community are eligible to participate in St. Clare’s quality, competitive CYO sports programs that reinforce the importance of fairness, self-discipline, teamwork, self-sacrifice, sportsmanship, physical fitness, positive self-image, respect for authority, self-worth, and the love of the sport.

St. Clare offers fall season Volleyball, Football and Hot Shots Basketball (1st & 2nd grades) winter season Basketball and Swimming and spring season Track & Field and Lacrosse, both 3rd to 8th grade.  A fee is charged for each sport to cover the cost of registration, fees, and equipment. Uniforms are provided to players during the season.  Each sport registers online, links to register are below.

Teams are coached by volunteers, most of whom are school parents or teachers, and Called to Protect certified. While CYO is not affiliated with our school, we do encourage our children’s participation in athletic interests.

ONLINE REGISTRATION 

2012 TRACK AND FIELD : Boys and Girls, grades 3–8 

Participants compete in one of three groups: Roadrunners: 3–4, Cubs: 5–6, and Cadets: 7–8. Boys and girls generally compete in their own events. Track season begins in March and continues through the middle of May. Four developmental meets are intended to provide competitive opportunities to improve performance and, for athletes in the Cub and Cadet divisions, to obtain qualifying marks for the Meet of Champions. Roadrunners compete in the Roadrunner Finals, and the Meet of Champions features Cub and Cadet athletes who have achieved the qualifying standards.

2011-12 BASKETBALL : Boys and Girls, grades 3–8 

The season begins with a Jamboree Tournament the first weekend of December, and runs eight weeks ending with championship play in mid-March.

2012 SWIM TEAM REGISTRATION OPEN : Boys and Girls, grades K–8

The season runs from early October through mid-January. Swimmers are divided into three groups by grade: Polliwogs: K- 3, Cubs: 4–6, and Cadets:7–8. Our predominantly developmental program teaches the basics of competitive swimming without some of the pressures associated with higher levels of club competition.

2011 VOLLEYBALL REGISTRATION OPEN : Girls, Grades 3-8

The season begins in late August and continues through the middle of November.

The season begins in September and continues through mid-November ending with a tournament

2012 FOOTBALL : Boys and Girls, grades 3–8

Grades 3/4 dress in full uniform and play flag football, Grades 5/6 play tackle football, Grades 7/8 play tackle football. The regular season football program runs from mid-August through the middle of November, culminating with a football championship. Schools are placed in geographic regions. You must play for the region closest to your home or school unless you are granted a written exception.
