Parent Involvement

Volunteers are needed for:

• Driving for field trips and service projects
• Chaperones for these trips
• Helping out with special classroom projects
• Organizing class parties - (Halloween and Christmas with the Kindergarten buddies)
• Guest speakers on current topic of study, or parent specific interest

Wish list:

• A new document camera that is able to show student work, display textbooks and pictures, model writing, or how to do assignments
• Class set of small, personal white boards, pens, and erasers (or socks)
• 30 copies of Crash, by Jerry Spinelli. Our anti-bullying program, “Steps to Respect” contains a Literature Unit for Crash. If we had a complete class set, we could study this book for Reading class, and it would tie in directly to our anti-bullying program. This would also connect to our efforts to becoming a “Safe-Kind School.”
