Dress Code

Overview
Uniforms are to be worn the second full day of school for all grades.  The purpose of the uniform is to prevent children from judging themselves and others by their dress and to help alleviate pressures on the family.  How a student dresses, even when wearing a uniform, is a statement of character.  Often times, if a child dresses sloppily, this can often carry over to written work.  Please view the dress code as a positive character building aspect of Catholic education.^

Out of Dress Code
Parents are expected to maintain the integrity of the uniform policy by seeing that their child leaves the house in the morning according to the dress code stated in this directory.  If a child is out of uniform, he/she will receive a Conduct Slip, and the student will have to call home to ask his/her mom or dad to bring the appropriate clothing.  If the parent is unable to make a trip to school with the uniform, the student will be sent to the Uniform Exchange to borrow a uniform.  It is expected that any borrowed clothing will be laundered and returned to school the next day.^

Uniform Exchange

When the uniform becomes worn, it should be replaced.  The Uniform Exchange is open during the last week of August and the first few weeks of September in the cafeteria, and is available year round in the Storage Room downstairs.  It operates on a one-on-one exchange basis.  New families can join the exchange by making a contribution to the Library fund.  School sweatshirts and vests can be purchased in the office.^

Free Dress
The last Friday of each month is free dress day.  The principal may call additional free dress days. ^
