We have whizzed through May like a locomotive.  So much is happening these days it’s a trick to keep up with all the events that are happening.  This is a really fun time of the year, but stressful for teachers who are scrambling to provide the fun enrichment while winding up all necessary curriculum.

The BIG event this week is the Art Fair, Open House and Book Fair on Thursday, May 25th from 6:30 to 8:00.   This is really a fun night for our families to come together and see the exceptional work every single one of our students has produced.  It’s an evening in which we really celebrate the year we’ve had with your kids.  Of course, we appreciate your support to our Book Fair, and hope you will drop into our library to see the many interesting and entertaining books Mrs. Napoli will have for your viewing pleasure.

I would like to report on the success of our Fitness Challenge.    We budgeted $28,000 from this event.  Our kids brought in over $30,000!  Can you believe that?  I’m so happy for their success, not just because it’s a lot of money, but it’s just nice for them to experience positive results from hard work.

As I say so many times, no event can be this successful with first-class leadership which we had in Mrs. Amy Marconi and Mrs. Spencer Gall.  We are certainly in their debt for keeping our kids so motivated.

Mr. John Cline and Mr. Michael Cline will take my shift on duty next Tuesday, May 30th as Principals for the Day.  I hope they show up at 6:00 a.m. as the shift runs from then until the cows come home!  They have already declared Tuesday, May 30th a free dress day which should make them the most popular principals in the past two weeks!  Patty and I are looking forward to making their day very special.  After school they will be chauffeured home in a convertible.  Hmmmm, I don’t recall that being in my job description!!

Not to be confused, but we are having FREE DRESS this Friday, May 26th as it is the last Friday of the month.  Please remember that with that comes Bring A Can Of Food for our poor.  We appreciate how attentive our families have been to supporting these Fridays once a month.

Last Friday, those running for office on our Student Council gave their speeches in the gym.  Immediately after, students voted and the results are in.  Yesterday morning in the hallway I announced to our Student Body the following:

Peder Gram                             President

Madde Burnham                    Vice President

Katherine Ambrose              Secretary/Treasurer

Madeline Toth-Fejel             Secretary/Treasurer

Karin Erbling                          Commissioners of Activities

Paul Fitzpatrick                      Commissioners of Activities

Congratulations to these students who will be installed as officers in the next week.  We know they will lead their St. Clare students with much enthusiasm and love for their school.

I’m not sure why, but standardized test results have not arrived yet.  As soon as they do, I’ll prepare a report on our progress for your review.  You should be getting a report on your child(ren) as well.  Stay tuned for the real thing!

We recently received new Kindergarten furniture we need for a full-day crowd next year, and now have three Kindergarten tables we’d like to sell to the highest bidder.  In addition, we have 20+ chairs that are also for sale.  Please email or call me if you are interested.

See You At The Art Fair!, Open House, And Book Fair!
