THE STAFF AND
FACULTY THANK YOU….
for all your kind
words, cards, and thoughtful treats given to us last Friday during
Catholic Schools' Week. We are all truly blessed to be able to work
in such a kind, compassionate and supportive community.
FREEMAN SIDE
REMINDER -
NO PARKING!
We continue to have
parking issues on the Freeman side of the school. No one is allowed
to park and get out of their car to come into the school on Freeman Street.
If you have any business to conduct, please park on the Spring Garden
side of the school and come in no matter what time of day it is. It
becomes a major traffic problem when a few people think they can run in
and conduct business quick enough that no one will notice. I'm here
to tell you EVERYONE NOTICES! There is only one spot that is reserved
for parking and that spot is purchased each year at the auction.
We have had to deal
with this issue three and four times a year so beginning tomorrow, if you
are parked on the Freeman side of the street, we will be putting a notice
on your windshield reminding you not to park your car and leave.
There are NO exceptions to this policy. The flow of
traffic is dramatically different when everyone follows the rules.
I am sure I can speak
for all of the teachers, students and parents when I say thank you, in advance,
for your cooperation.
ENROLLMENT
CONTINUES
Our kindergarten
continues to fill up and we still have openings in all grades next year
except 5th & 6th. Sixth grade already has a waiting
list.
Registration is now
open to everyone. This is your opportunity to sell our school all
the way to full enrollment! Please encourage friends and neighbors
to learn more about St. Clare by visiting our website,
www.stclarepdx.org, or making an appointment to see me.
CALL-IN REMINDER - 2nd Request
We thought we would
put this on the first page this week since we're pretty confident it was
lost in the second page last week. Parents, please remember to call
your children in sick or late by 7:00 a.m. This helps the
teachers at the start of the school day to know who to expect and who to
worry about. Calling in after 8:05 a.m. does not help classrooms
with a smooth start. There are a lot of times when teachers are
waiting on students wondering if they are just late before they begin a
large project. More importantly, we want to account for every
student. One year we had a student dropped off at school by the
parent. The parent left thinking the child had gone to class, but
as soon as mom drove away, the student bolted and walked home. He
then walked back to school at the end of the day to meet up with his
ride. See the concern we would have? Again, we appreciate
your cooperation. Thank you.
