LENTEN SOUP SUPPERS -

In honor of our efforts to raise money for the St. Clare Parish in Mississippi, Chuck Freemont, a parishioner and school parent, has offered to make Seafood Gumbo for us as the last soup supper on the evening of April 11th.  Chuck's Gumbo is a Louisiana style tomato-based soup with shrimp and crab served over rice.  Fr. Tom will bake bread to go with it.

To provide Chuck with an approximate idea of how much gumbo to make, please call the parish office, 503.244.1037, if you plan to attend.

$2.00 per person to cover the cost of ingredients will be collected that evening.  We hope everyone will come and enjoy!

ST. CLARE PRESCHOOL BECOMES MINISTRY OF ST. CLARE PARISH

Since the St. Clare preschool began in 1997, it has long been a dream of all who has worked here that we would not be just a childcare center, but a true ministry of the St. Clare Church community.  An important part of recognizing all that this center did for families of both St. Clare and the Community was to acknowledge our contributions, our philosophy, our methods of running a preschool that were in line with a ministry's function which was to serve those who came for help, care, a sense of belonging, and participation.  It is an honor to be among the other parish ministries in this community.  We are blessed by wonderful staff members who offer so much to the children; by the families who have always given their time, generosity and their hearts and by the many members of the entire St. Clare community who find ways to be involved in our preschool.  Thank you to all those who made this possible.
