INQUIRY FOR ADULTS WISHING TO BECOME CATHOLIC

Inquiry for adults wishing to become Catholic is on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Clare Room of the parish office. 

 

Families who have children, seven years of age or older, who wish to become Catholic are invited to an orientation on Sunday, October 9th at 2:00 p.m. in the parish hall (cafeteria).  For more information please contact Kathy Kowash at 503.244.1037.  Thank you.

Middle School Bowling:  Last chance!  Middle schoolers are eating pizza and going bowling on Wednesday, October 5th.  They will be meeting at Pizza Caboose and Tigard Bowl at 6:15 p.m.  Cost is $12.50.  Pick up permission slips from the parish office. 

 

CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS

If you have children who are seven years of age and older who wish to be baptized or to become Catholic, we are having an orientation meeting for parents and their children this Sunday, October 9th at 2:00 p.m. in the parish hall.  If you have any questions, please contact Kathy Kowash at 503.244.1037.

PRESCHOOL NEWS

Preschool will be collecting used coats and blankets in good condition for distribution to downtown ministries the weeks of October 17th through the 28th.  Please contribute if you can.    

 

ST. CLARE LEARNING SPECIALIST PROGRAM

The Children's Program in Multnomah Village has announced openings in their fall classes in the following areas:

* AD/HD Beginners Group (ages 7 - 12)

* Helping Teenage Girls Weather the High School and Junior High Storm

Additionally, the Oregon branch of the International Dyslexia Association provides a support group for dyslexic students in grades 1 - 12 led by dyslexic students at Lewis and Clark College.  There is also a concurrent program for parents.  The initial groups of the new school year are planned for October 1, October 22 and November 19th.  For more information, call ORBIDA at 503.228.4455 or see Mrs. O'Mahony.

 

Finally, ORBIDA also sponsors a bi-monthly group called "Adults Who Learn Differently" for adults who have been diagnosed with or think they may have Dyslexia and AD/HD.  The meetings take place on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. and the cost is a $10 donation.  The group has been very well received and reviewed.  For more information, call Debra Brooks at 503.310.2825, www.debrabrooks.net or see Mrs. O'Mahony.
