MODELING GIVING
FOR YOUR CHILDREN
Parents, here is
a chance for you to show your kids that Christmas is not all about The
“Toys R Us Big Book” or what’s on Santa’s list. It’s about taking
care of those struggling to make ends meet, and those without the joy of
having family surrounding them during the holidays. Include your
family in the selection of gifts needed by others found on our Giving
Tree, and then have the kids help you sort and deliver to families.
What a great tradition for your family to start.
Christ came to
us to make our life better, to teach us about living those values and
virtues that raise the standard of living and help those in need of a
generous heart. The Advent Wreath helps us keep our sights set on
the true meaning of Christmas. If you have an Advent Wreath and
daily prayer around it, that’s great. If you don’t have a wreath,
you can still pray as a family each day. Keep Christ in Christmas
has been a long-standing theme in our tradition. Help us help your
children understand how we prepare for Christ’s coming.
