We are not
sending home a Dragon Post today but do have a few items of interest. They are as follows:
ST. CLARE BOOK CLUB
Next fall
we are going to start the St. Clare Book Club.
Mrs. Napoli will be teaming up with Amy McAdams, the youth librarian
from Capitol Hill Library to facilitate the club’s meetings. The St. Clare Book Club will meet the third
Tuesday of every month from 2:10 – 3:00 in the library. It is open to 4th – 8th
graders who are interested in reading and talking about a variety of different
books throughout the year. The first
meeting will be September 20th.

2005 GRADUATES’ PROFILE OF
DISTINCTION AND 2005 ANNUAL STUDENT AWARDS FROM ST. MARY’S ACADEMY
The St.
Mary’s Graduation Class of 2005 has several outstanding St. Clare Alums. We would like to congratulate Theresa Myers
who will be their 2005 Valedictorian.
She is also one of the finalists in the National Merit Scholarship
Program. She is also a member the U.S.
Department of Education 2005 Presidential Scholar and is one of St. Mary’s
Scholar Athletes.
We also
congratulate Allison Ambrose who will be a member of the National Merit
Commended Students and will be presented with the President’s Award for
Educational Excellence. Allison is also
one of the St. Mary’s Scholar Athletes.
Congratulations
continue with Katherine Cobb and Colleen Haller who will also be recipients of
the President’s Award for Educational Excellence and to Brooke Palmer who is
yet another St. Mary’s Scholar Athlete.
Congratulations St Clare Track Team!
The St.
Clare Track Team wrapped up another successful season last week at the
Championship finals held at Lewis and
5th
and 6th grade girls Kyla Wisniewski,
Taylor Davis, Sierra Duarte, and Kelly Olsen were back this year with
outstanding efforts. Allie Blaskowsky
was a strong competitor in the shot-put and 400 meter dash but missed the
championships with an appendicitis.
Sarah
Freepons had her season best in the 200 meter dash at the classic meet the week
before at
Seventh
grader Megan Baglien qualified for the championships in the 800 and ran a gutsy
race in the finals.
3rd
and 4th grade team members Patrick Benson, James Wisniewski, Evan
Kalomiris, Jared Jensen, Sonny Davis, Chase Burnham, Elise Francis, Emma
Marquard, Emily Boyd, Anna Marie Bittner, and Karen Myers all ran personal
bests in their age division Championships at
All those
practices in the rain really paid off.

CYO Sports - Fall 2005
If you are
interested in participating this fall in CYO football,
volleyball, 1st & 2nd grade basketball, or
swimming please read the following:
Football:
If you played CYO football
last fall you should have already received a registration packet in the
mail. If you would like to play CYO football this fall
and have not yet registered you need to call the CYO office 503.231.9484 and
request a registration packet no later than June 30th. For additional
information on the football program please contact our St.Clare

Volleyball & 1st/2nd grade basketball:
Registration for girls
volleyball (3rd - 8th grades) and co-ed basketball (combined 1st & 2nd
grade) will occur at the beginning of the 05/06 school year with the first
games held on Saturday September 24th. If there are not enough
participants from the St. Clare community to form a St. Clare team we can
assist you in joining another CYO school team. Registration occurs early
in September. Look for registration information at the beginning of the school
year.

LAST DAY FOR LIBRARY
Tomorrow, June, 1st is the last day the library will be
open. Please be sure to return all
library books.
FINAL BILLING
We will be preparing a final billing within the next week which will go
home next Tuesday. This billing will
include any outstanding tuition, registration, daycare, library or classroom
fees that will be due before report cards and/or diplomas are sent home. If your records differ from the final
billings please contact the school office so we can straighten out any
problems.
