Our seventh
graders prepared and presented The Stations of the Cross to our student
body and parishioners on Friday. Ms. Harmeyer had them write their
reflections on each Station. Each one shared was so thoughtful.
Mrs. Acurso directed their drawings in charcoal. The results are
stunning! Parents, if you have time, please take a walk down our
hallway to marvel at the 14 Stations and reflections inspired by our 7th
graders. You won’t believe how beautiful these are. I am so
proud of these kids and teachers.

Expressing
our faith Through The
stations of the cross As you
know, Holy Week takes place during Spring Break this year. As a
Catholic School, this puts us at a disadvantage as it is a key time, not
just to teach about the Paschal Mystery, but to share with our students
the rich symbolism and rituals of Holy Week. Many will
be on vacation, but I encourage you to take part in the Holy Week, Good
Friday and Easter Vigil or Sunday liturgies. Kids need to see the
Washing of the Feet, Veneration of the Cross, lighting of the Easter
candle, and other “visuals” that help express the meaning of Christ’s
death and Resurrection. Listening to the story of the Passion
should be like a rhythm in our faith experiences, and one that is passed
along to our children year after year. All of us
at St. Clare wish you and your family a most blessed Easter filled with
hope and absolute confidence that God is intimately present to you at all
times. |
