A YEAR OF BROKEN RECORDS!
So many
people worked together to make this year’s auction happen and “Happen” is
an understatement. We broke records in attendance, procurement,
fund-raising dollars and the spirit of the night was the best it has ever
been. Words can’t express the debt of gratitude we owe
co-chairs Colette Rees and
Jennifer Pinder. From day one they started on a path to success and
never let up until the last bid card was raised and the last dollar was
earned during Saturday’s night auction. Colette and Jennifer were
truly remarkable in their tenacity to raise the bar of success on this
major fund-raiser. Congratulations Colette and Jennifer on a
tremendous event.
We would also
like to extend our thanks to Nancy Bolton who chaired procurement this
year. She took this on herself and managed the biggest procurement
team in the history of St. Clare’s auctions. The amount of items that
came in for bid were unbelievable and Nancy
never seemed to slow down when coming up with creative ideas on how to
place the items up for bid. Kudos to you, Nancy!
Thanks also
go to the parents, friends, relatives and neighbors who came out Saturday
night to participate in this event. We wouldn’t have success without
you and we cannot thank you enough for the support you continue to give
us. Those who worked the floor and those who bought items all gave
from the heart. We are so blessed in this community and we want each
of you to know how grateful we are.
When looking
through the Auction booklet, so many items came from our teachers, the
classroom projects and, of course, those beautiful class art projects
directed by Marie Acurso. Our teachers were so generous. Please
join me in thanking them for going above and beyond… The parents who
organized and directed the classroom projects deserve our thanks as well.
Thanks also
go to Rhoni Seguin who was successful in acquiring a matching gift for
every $100 received during our paddle bid by the Maybelle Clark
Foundation. With this money we will be purchasing new desks/chairs
for our students, new tables/chairs for our library, new carpeting for some
classrooms, and new folding chairs for the art room. We are also
looking to replace lighting in all classrooms, and hopefully, add to our
Adopt-A-Student fund. Rhoni’s initiative and influence have made this
possible.
It was a
night of broken records. It was a night of endless giving. It
was a night for this community to celebrate its abundance. It will be
a night to remember! Thank you from the bottom of our
hearts!
YOU’VE MADE OUR DREAMS COME TRUE!!!
