LEAVING FOR OUTDOOR  SCHOOL!

These 6th graders left April 10 for Milk Creek at Camp Adams for a week of outdoor science camp.  Even though it rained most every day, the kids didn’t have their spirit dampened in any way.  Each student was put into cabins with sixth grade students from three other public schools.   Ms. Harmeyer accompanied them and said our kids were well behaved and had a ball.

Special thanks goes to Ms. Harmeyer for not only being on duty  48 hours five days that week, but actually enjoying every minute of it!  What a trooper.

Outdoor School continues to be a great opportunity for our kids….more socially, than academically.  Mr. Puccio has taken them beyond OS curriculum, for sure!

Great News!

Thanks to your support, we have collected about $35,000  from the school’s paddle bid.  Here’s what your generosity is doing to improve our school’s facility:

* New desks and chairs for grades 4 and 5 (arriving in early June)

* New stools for our art room (arriving in early June)

* New tables and chairs for the library (arriving in early June)

* New carpeting for two classrooms (installed this summer)

* Replacing the lighting in all classrooms and downstairs hallway

* Adding seven more outlets per classroom

* Joining parish and preschool (we hope) in purchasing a carpet extractor (commercial cleaner)

As you can see, we are getting a lot of mileage out of this year’s paddle bid.  All work should be completed by the time our students return in September.  I’m especially grateful to Rhoni Seguin who secured a matching grant from the Maybelle Clark MacDonald Fund.  These are improvements we’ve needed for a long time.  Thank you very much parents!
