Dear
Parents,
The
Before and After School Care program (BASC) is now accepting registration for
the 2007-2008 school year. We would
greatly appreciate all families registering before June 1, 2007
in order to plan for staffing. If we do
not receive your registration prior to June
1st, we cannot guarantee a spot for your child in our program.
Our
BASC program provides a safe and
happy environment for students before and after regular school hours. BASC is
available to all children in K – 8 who are registered students at St. Clare
School.
Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00-8:00 am and 3:00—6:00 pm
(Tuesdays from 2:00-6:00 pm),
excluding major holidays and school vacations.
BASC provides regularly
scheduled care which guarantees child care on particular days and times. We also provide drop-in care which is offered
on a first-come, first-served basis if room is available, and emergency care
for all St Clare students who have not been picked up after school by
designated times*. BASC does provide full day programming on
non-school days, such as teacher grading days, as well as extended care on noon
dismissal days. Parents may also use the
program to coordinate with after school activities, such as music, CYO sports,
or tutoring.
*Emergency
care is a St. Clare School
policy. The school does not assume
responsibility for students remaining past designated pick-up times (2:20 on Tuesdays or 3:20 on other school days.) Remaining children will automatically be
escorted to BASC where the parent
will be called to pick-up their child.
Drop-in care and BASC registration
fees will be assessed for all students, and payment and registration forms must
be completed at the time of pick-up.
Exceptions to this policy will not be made for any circumstance. We encourage all families to plan ahead and
register for drop-in care, to assure your child will be covered should you
forget or have something come up last minute that will affect prompt pick-up
from school. All drop-in care families
are welcome to use the program throughout the entire school year.
Our
program features organized games and outdoor recreation, crafts, free play,
homework assistance, movies, science experiments, cooking projects, and special
celebrations for holidays. BASC allows your child time to socialize with
classmates (an added bonus according to our kids!) under the supervision of our
experienced and competent staff. Our
number one priority is to provide high quality care for your children in a safe
and enjoyable atmosphere.
Many
St. Clare families have used our facility in the past, but for anyone who has not, I invite you to stop by for a visit. BASC is
located at the end of the hallway just past the 6th grade
classroom. I am available Monday-Friday
after 2:00 pm and would be
happy to show you around our room and answer any questions you may have. The school provides the BASC program as an option to help parents with their
commitment to Catholic education at St.
Clare School. It’s a service we gladly provide. We look forward to seeing many returning
students and hopefully some “new” faces as well.
