Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  When does fundraising begin?

A:   Fundraising begins each school year.  SCRIP runs all year round.

Q:  Do I have to participate in all of the fundraising events?

A:  We encourage that you help do your share in participating in both parent involvement and family fundraising commitment.  However as long as you meet the obligations in both categories by May 2006, the decision is up to the family how to get this accomplished.

Q:  What if I do not meet my family obligation by May 2008?

A:  You will be required to make up the difference yourself.

Q:  What is the benefit of participating in the fundraising events?

A:  First, you are helping the parents and teachers reach the required goal set in the school budget.  Second, your child is also participating in the event too.  For some events, the classes with the highest totals are treated to something “extra” for their efforts.  These “extras” could be: free dress, pizza party, extra recess, ice cream, etc.

Q: Can I just pay my family obligation and then I am done with it?

A:  The school prefers that you get involved with the fundraising events as this is an excellent way to meet your school families and share with the community St. Clare’s goals.  However, if you elect not to participate, checks will be accepted.

Q:  Where does the Mandatory Fundraising Money go?

A:  All proceeds for the school fundraising go to the school and assist with the operational expenses of the school.

Q:  Do I benefit anything extra if I go over my family obligation?

A:  The school benefits from all of your fundraising activities.  Your minimum obligation satisfies the minimum need in the school’s budget.  If we go beyond our goals we would be able to provide extra financial assistance to the school.  Each year we hope to go beyond our own obligations, do as we can.

Q:  Can I suggest events to the school?

A:  Absolutely, we are open to new suggestions.  Contact the PTC president(s) to ask for time on the agenda at the monthly meeting.  We are always looking for fresh ideas.
