Dear
BASC Parents and Children,
These
contracts have been created with the safety of staff and children and the
overall quality of our program in mind.
They have not been created with the intent of excluding children from
our program, but rather as a deterrent for disruptive and/or negative
behaviors. These contracts will be
utilized this year, in order to hold your child accountable for their
decisions, actions, reactions, and when necessary consequences.
We
strive to offer a supportive staff and program, one that is willing to accept
each child and help them become successful individuals. On the other hand, we expect that your child
return the same amount of respect and consideration for themselves and others,
and commit to becoming responsible, caring, and positive members of all BASC
and St. Clare School programs.
When
this does not happen, and the behaviors on the included contract are exuded, it
creates an environment where everyone suffers.
Energy is over-drawn from staff and placed on a particular incident
and/or child(ren). It takes attention away from children who are
upholding BASC rules and policies, and exhibits poor role modeling to other
children in our program.
We
certainly will give our attention and assistance to each child and family and
work directly with you and the school to create lasting solutions. However, there are certain behaviors that are
not tolerated by the school officials, and they will not be tolerated in before
or after-school care as well.
Please
take the time to review the included discipline policy and an outline of
behaviors considered to be serious infractions of the BASC behavior
contract. Talk about options that your child(ren) may have when faced
with a difficult or upsetting situation.
Discuss the seriousness of this contract together, sign it and return it
to one of the BASC staff.
You may direct all questions, concerns, or comments to the BASC Director, in person, by email at stclarebasc@aracnet.com or by calling BASC at (503)-244-8747.
Thank
you for your support and consideration in this matter. We hope to have successful and positive
experiences this year and look forwards to having you as part of our program.

ST.
CLARE BASC BEHAVIOR CONTRACT
It is a new year and a new start for each child in this program. The goal of our discipline policy is to teach children to be responsible for their own actions, and to socialize with their peers and teachers in a responsible and positive way. Due largely in part to safety concerns and the well being of every child in our program, it is important that your child(ren) understand how particular incidents outlined in this contract will be handled. This contract is not intended to remove your child(ren) from our program, but rather to help them become successful individuals who are capable of making safe and competent decisions.
