Class of 2010!

Congratulations to Nate Alvey, winner of the St. Clare Geography Bee.  He

Took a written test in January to see if he will qualify for the Oregon State

Geography Bee in April and he did!  Nate participated in the Oregon State Geography Bee

April 4 and did very well competing against mainly older students.  Way to

go Nate!

Conduct Descriptors

·        O  (Outstanding)  Virtually never needs any correction in behavior, attitude, or organization

·        S+ (Above Satisfactory)  Only occasionally needs any correction in behavior, attitude or organization

·        S (Satisfactory) Sometimes needs correction in behavior, attitude or organization

·        S- (Below Satisfactory) Several times a week needs correction in behavior, attitude or organization

·        N (Needs Improvement)  Significant and/or repeated behavior, attitude and/or organizational concerns

Students who expect to earn conduct grades of O or S+ need to consistently be courteous and respectful in words and non verbal communication, demonstrate self control during both instruction and work time, respond positively to teacher instruction and/or correction, and make consistent  efforts to be prepared and organized for class.  In order to be named to the Conduct Honor Roll, students must have all O’s with no more than two S+ grades in conduct.  While several sixth grade students are on track to earn this recognition, the majority still need to work on not talking during instruction and work time.  A few need to work on respect and positive attitude.  It might be a good time to have a conversation about these important qualities at home.

Thanks for your help and support.
