Multicultural Activity  on Islam

Bloom’s Taxonomy

You will be assigned a particular broad topic related to the study of Islam.  5-6 students will investigate each topic.  You will have an opportunity to request a particular topic.

·         Islamic Law

·         Women in Islam

·         Sunis and Shiites

·         Arab Contributions

You are going to research information (some of which will be given to you by Mrs. K.) and arrange it in specific creative ways on a cube shaped box.  You must cut paper to the correct sizes and attach your work neatly to the box.  You will created each side of the box separately and then attach it to the box when it is finished.  Folded paper must be carefully prepared to enhance neatness. Use different colors of construction paper, colored markers, stickers, and other materials to make your boxes both attractive and informative.

A.          Knowledge

List  5 significant facts about the topic.

B.          Comprehension

Make a Venn diagram comparing and contrasting with elements from another  religion, culture, or government.

Use at least 10 bullet points total in the diagram.

Draw a chart, diagram, map, or picture that helps to explain some important idea from your topic.  Use a title and captions.

D.          Analysis

Investigate two important beliefs or practices in your topic.  Predict what could happen if everyone believed and practiced these principles  Write at least 2 paragraphs.

E.          Synthesis

Compose a poem or song that explains important ideas related to your topic

F.          Evaluation

Write about 2-3 main beliefs principles, or practices you researched.  Explain what you believe about these ideas.   Write 2 or more paragraphs.

                    secure.  Write clearly using a ruler to keep

                    lines straight.  You are encouraged to type

                    your work. Use color to make project eye-
