Poem Recitations

3^rd Trimester

2007 - 2008

Two recitations will be required this trimester. Everyone will be responsible for the poem “I Hear America Singing,” by Walt Whitman. The second poem recitation will be one of the poems listed in the packet: “On the Bridge,” by Kate Greenaway; “Goodbye My Winter Suit” by N.M. Bodecker; or “That May Morning,” by Leland B. Jacobs.

1^st poem recitation due week of May 5

2^nd poem recitation due week of June 2: Choose one poem from the poem packet.

7^th Grade Language Arts

The second poem recitation will be one of the poems listed in the packet: “Spring in New Hampshire,” by Claude McKay; “When I Hear the Learn’d Astronomer,” by Walt Whitman; or “The Owl,” by Edward Thomas.

1^st poem recitation due week of May 5

2^nd poem recitation due week of June 2: Choose one poem from the poem packet.
