Welcome to Mrs. Kreitzberg‘s 7^th Grade Math Class
Basic Skills Tests & Otter Creek The tests on all the skills students should know before high school were helpful. It showed us that as we covered topics students did well, but that as we moved on they didn’t always retain the information. This will probably result in a basic skills component to homework next year to enable the students to really master these skills long term. Otter Creek math fact program helped keep them sharp on multiplication facts. I noticed more proficiency in fact use this year. Help – Students needing help with homework are welcome to come before school, at morning break, or lunch recess.		3rd Trimester Surface area and volume have been a large focus of this trimester. We will finish up the trimester and the year with probability, polynomials, and solving equations. Evaluation Some time in the next two week students will also take a third “yearly progress test” as well as the AIMS basic skills test. These help us track the student’s progress as well as place them in the correct class for next year.
	Homework Homework will be assigned daily. Some class time will be given to start the assignment. The seventh grade class period is shorter than the sixth, so students will have work to take home most days.
