Star of the Week Guidelines

Each student will be assigned a week that they are the “Star of the Week”. I will try and have that week be as close to their actual birthday week, but we do have weeks that multiple birthdays fall on. I would also like for the week that they are the star to be a five day week so that it is fair for all students. This project is a way for the class to get to know each student a little bit better, work on presentation skills, and of course to be a star! About a week before a student is the “Star of the Week”, a packet will go home to complete the following assignments:

Please complete the “All About Me” Packet and decorate a poster board with pictures of yourself and your family from past and present.

On Monday you will present the poster board to the class during our Community Circle time. We will display this poster throughout the week.

On Tuesday you will present the “Me Interview” sheet to the class during our Community Circle time.

On Wednesday you will present the “All About______________” sheet to the class during our Community Circle time and you are welcome to bring a snack for the class during our snack time. Please remember that these should be healthy and appropriate for morning snack.

On Thursday you will present the “Get Acquainted with Yourself” sheet to the class during our Community Circle time.

On Friday you may bring in your favorite stuffed animal or toy along with a treat to share with the class if you’d like. You may bring in a birthday treat on your actual birthday afternoon instead of this time. Treats will be passed out at the end of the day, usually between 2:30 and 3:00 PM.
