Dear Parents and Students,

Wow! I can’t believe another school year is already here. I feel like just yesterday I was packing up for summer. Time flies when you’re having fun!

My name is Mrs. Odman, and I will be your second grade teacher this year. I am so excited about this year. It’s going to be awesome! We’ve got a lot of fun things planned, and we’ve got a great group of students in our classroom.

I grew up in Portland and actually received my First Communion here at St. Clare many years ago. I attended Jesuit High School and went on to the University of Oregon where I studied Education and received my Masters in Education there as well. My first year teaching was here at St. Clare teaching 5^th grade. I married my husband, Matt in 2002 and promptly moved down to Texas where he attended business school. Fortunately, we moved back here after three years, and I have been happily teaching 2^nd grade here ever since.

We bought a house in southwest Portland not far from St. Clare and many St. Clare families! We enjoy seeing them around Starbucks and the grocery store on the weekends! When I’m not at school we like going to the gym, running, riding our bikes, reading, cooking, and hanging out with our friends and family.

I’m very excited for the upcoming school year. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns anytime throughout the year. I will be more than happy to help you out. Get ready for a great new year in second grade!
