A Book-a-Month

Purpose: Encourage reading and interest in books; foster creativity; stretch thinking; provide an opportunity to present work to the class; and build a student’s sense of responsibility and ability to plan ahead.

October 19: Diorama or peek box

November 30: Timeline

January 25: Mobile

April 24: Dress up as a character and write a letter to the class as that character telling them a little bit about the book.

May 30: Make a radio or T.V. commercial introducing the book.

** A short book report form will need to be filled out each month to accompany the project. This form should help with the presentation that the child has to do in class. More specific directions will be given monthly.**
